Non-Funded Hours
As of September 2024, our fees for any non-government-funded hours will be £7.20 per hour + £1 per hour Fair Funding and Consumables Supplement.
Government Funding
Free Early Education Entitlement – https://www.gov.uk/help-with-childcare-costs/free-childcare-and-education-for-2-to-4-year-olds
Children attending this setting may be eligible for government funding from the January, April or September following their 2nd birthday for up to 15 hours per week and following their 3rd birthday for up to 30 hours* per week, for 38 weeks. We will arrange this for you although you will be required to fill in and sign a Declaration Form and let us see a copy of your child’s birth certificate. This is subject to regular review.
Children are only allowed to claim the amount of funded hours they are registered to attend as at the headcount date.
As described below, a separate £1 per hour Fair Funding and Consumables Supplement will be charged for all hours (funded and non-funded), except for children qualifying for the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP).
Any additional, non-funded hours are charged at the standard session rates of £7.20 per hour + £1 per hour Fair Funding and Consumables Supplement.
*30 free hours is offered on an entirely discretionary basis to qualifying families and may be withdrawn, at our discretion, should an increased uptake begin to impact on the Preschool’s finances.
Fair Funding and Consumables Supplement (FFCS)
To ensure the long-term sustainability and the continued quality of the setting, WAPS charges a £1/hour Fair Funding and Consumables Supplement (FFCS) for each funded and unfunded hour (applied from 1st September 2024).
This funding will cover the cost of your child’s consumables, as well as baking, messy play and craft supplies. It will also help to cover the cost of admin, other groups or outside agencies that we arrange to come into the Preschool.
To make snacks easier for parents, the Pre-school provides the food. This is so we can create a common experience for all children and add in special days like pancake day or make topic-related snacks (e.g. moon cakes) which the children love to do during the day. Please feel free to still bring in birthday treats and special things your children have made at home.
