A Typical Day

Arrival & Introduction

9.00 - 9.15am

The children arrive at 9.00am and are encouraged to hang up their outdoor wear on their named peg.

The children are then settled in their chosen activities by staff.

Register and News Time. 

From 9.30am we sing our morning song and then discuss the week’s topic or letter and then the children have an opportunity to talk about any items of news they have from home or the treasures they may have brought with them.

The Morning

9.30 - 11.45 am

At this time the children are encouraged to enjoy free play inside and out or join in the day’s structured adult-led activity or to participate in their own games, drawing or a reading session in the book corner, which can also be used for rest or quiet time. We have a number of areas to play in during the day, including creative, role play, maths, play kitchen and book corner. the day is free for the children to choose with a verity of equipment out but if they feel like a change, we also have choosing books so they can have something new out.

10am till 10.30 am

Rolling Snack Bar.  A selection of fresh fruit, vegetables, toast or crackers are available. The children take it in turns to help themselves and self register with adult supervision. Water and milk is freely available during the session. Once finished the children wash their own plates and cups.

Outside Play

9.30 - 11.45 am

Outside Play. We have a free flow with the garden and the children are able to play outside for most of the day.

We go out into the garden in nearly all weather but sometimes if it is too hot or too cold we will stay inside and enjoy music, movement or indoor games.

11.45 - 12 pm

Tidy up time / Quiet time.

We will have a story and song before getting ready to go home.

Lunch Time

12.00 - 1 pm

Children staying for lunch will need to bring a packed lunch and a drink (we recommend water).

We promote healthy eating so please provide a balanced lunch.

We have a strict ‘No Nut’ policy.

A drink of water is also provided.

Afternoon Session

1 - 3 pm (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons only)

Our afternoon sessions offer more fun activities and free flow play.

The children are able to choose from our range of resources.

We also do a wide range of adult let activities for your child to choice from, we cook, craft, sing and do music and movement sessions throughout the week.
